The Nordic nature can create miracles. Both large and small. We’ve known that for centuries. and that is precisely why Nordic nature is the focal point of Raunsborg and our products. We believe that plants, herbs and flowers have unique properties that can be usefully used in beauty products.

But it is only when nature meets science that magic occurs. And it is the meeting between nature and science that from day one has been a recurring theme for Raunsborg. In fact, it has been so crucial for us that it permeates our DNA and philosophy – and not least our products.

Our approach to skin care is rooted in our (pre)love for Nordic nature, which is why our products and their properties also reflect this – we carefully select different herbs, plants and flowers that together can create small miracles for all skin types.

Flora Danica

From raunsborg’s very beginnings we have found inspiration in Flora Danica; a book from 1648. But even though the book has many years to go, it has been a focal point for our product development. Because we’ve been flipping and flipping… noted, thought, leafed and then all over again … The Flora Danica book is a unique space filled with inspiration.

Over generations, women have gathered knowledge about active qualities from plants, herbs and flowers. Properties they used when healing wounds. And when pain should be eased. This knowledge has been passed on from mother to daughter and later to science.

Exploring the old book is always inspiring. We learn something new every single time.

Funen is fine

If you’re not from Funen, you probably don’t know where Corinth is… it is about 15 minutes from Fåborg on Funen. The nature around Corinth is simply amazing. Forests. Lakes. Nature is just so beautiful. Much of our inspiration comes from this area. This is where Ravnsborg is located; Jim’s Viking Castle. There is hardly any better and more beautiful place to build a Viking castle.

If you are ever in the area, stop the car, go for a walk and feel how nature creates a vacuum for inspiration. A vacuum for immersion. And thereby understanding how and why the Nordic nature is so inspiring. Because it hides so much, and when you are in the area in and around Corinth, it is easy to feel and understand.

It’s just a unique feeling. A feeling we believe and hope that our customers notice when they use our beauty products.

Although the majority of our inspiration comes from The Nordic nature, we also ally ourselves with some of the best for developing, creating and producing beauty products.

Jim Lyngvild, co-founder and owner of Raunsborg, is our creative engine. He’s in the engine room. It’s from idea to finished product. Jim is even a familiar and well-liked face in our lab, where he happily dons a white smock and goes out into the mixing room to mix, test, and smell.

Besides Jim, Plum A/S (now Kiilto) is an important part of our product development. They help to create and develop our products on a large scale, where we in Raunsborg benefit from their knowledge and expertise in the development of creamer. A unique source of inspiration and sparring that from day one has helped to create what Raunsborg we are today.
