There is nothing better than the Nordic nature. We call it the Secret Treasury. Especially when it is spring and summer, we are greeted with beautiful scents that make us stop, notice after, and only after we have taken everything in, continue our trek through the beautiful Nordic nature.
Ever since Raunsborg’s inception, we have been exploring nature and finding inspiration for our products. And together with Flora Danica, one of the world’s largest plant works first published around the year 1648, we use, as far as possible, Nordic herbs, plants and flowers in all our products.
But even though we use nature and its many possibilities, we at Raunsborg® have a modern and up-to-date perfume production; a production in which nature meets science. For quality beauty products can not only be extracted from nature. It also requires advanced production, expertise and experience.
But it also requires another important element; the human element.

The human element
Filling machines are a natural part of the production for all beauty brands. And, of course, the same applies to us. But when it comes to our perfumes, there are no filling machines. Far from … this means that we fill all our perfumes by hand.
Watch the videos and pictures below. We are happy and proud that we create a few local jobs on West Funen.
It should be right in the closet
Sometimes it takes a long time from idea to finished product. Quality is not just something we are talking about. So, when a scent should sit right in the closet, the process can take several years. But what does the process look like?
As a creative, Jim is absolutely fantastic. His curly brain has been the catalyst for all our scents. It’s from the first idea to the finished perfume. Sometimes he’s been to the lab for days straight just to get the right scent out.
And then come the questions… is the smell as we want? Yes, almost, close to … Now it’s there!
Quality takes time, and when Jim, as a creative and concept developer, is part of the process, sometimes the process just takes a little extra time; we never compromise on the quality of our products.
Since Raunsborg® started, we have developed many different perfumes and we continue to develop and be curious about the many scents that nature can produce. And it should be mentioned that Jim has been the creative behind all our perfumes. He himself says that this is because as a child he found flowers in nature, took them home, put them in water and thus at an early age was interested in the smells of nature.
Below are some of the stories associated with some of our perfumes.
Secret Garden

Is our newest shot at the trunk and we can already see it becoming a bestseller. And there is a funny little story attached to the development of this particular perfume. A few years ago, Jim was in the office in Assens. He was in his creative corner. He had been working on a new scent for a long time, tried many different formulas … But now he was sure it was right in the closet. He therefore wrote the recipe down on our message board.
Time passed … we had a lot to do at Raunsborg®. And we completely forgot that the recipe was on our message board. Or we thought it was still there. In connection with a major cleanup round at the office, we had come to whisper the recipe out … And when we went on to develop the perfume, it was gone. We were in complete shock – and Jim panicked. But, but, but… with light and a sharp eye, we still managed to discern what Jim had written at the time: we had the recipe written clean, written it down (on a computer) and later produced.
Secret Garden is our latest perfume, and it’s already been well received. It is aimed at a wide audience. And we are glad that it became a reality because it characterises our brand; Nordic nature, science and the best raw materials.
Secret No. 1

A walk in the woods when it just rained… you definitely know the fresh smell of grass and birch. And that’s exactly why Jim wanted to create a scent that had those notes. It took several laps in our lab before Jim and the rest of the Raunsborg team were satisfied.
Secret No. 1 has been there from the start. Who doesn’t like the smell of the fresh Nordic nature?
Pink Rose

It’s summer, you go for a walk on the beach, you feel the notes from freshly sprung dune roses hitting your nose. The smell is wonderful. The Danish summer contains wonderful scents. From childhood, Jim has loved the smell of freshly sprung dune roses by the beaches of Skagen.
And that was exactly the scent, the feeling that Jim wanted to recreate through the Pink Rose.
Masculinity since 793

793 was the year that marked the Viking Age. The Vikings spread horror and fascination along the English coast. The Viking Age lasted until 1066, when the Battle of Hastings put an end to the Danes’ heyday as the world’s leading maritime nation.
The Danish Vikings equal masculinity. 793 also goes back to the Viking Age, the wild lifestyle, the free nature and the irresistible scent of citrus, bark and Nordic herbs.
A perfume for men of all ages. A perfume that shows our fascination for the Danish Vikings; 793.
We pick herbs in white coats
Raunsborg® is headquartered in West Funen, Assens. The nature around Assens is nothing short of amazing… forests, fields, water and everything in between. When we need to develop and create new perfumes, we can (almost) just go out into the backyard. Then we are struck by beautiful scents and idyllic inspiration.
Then we put on the white smock and go on a trip. Just watch this video. Jim’s standing right in front of our office. What a view!
Do we have new perfumes on the way? Maybe. We are always looking for inspiration in the Nordic nature.
